VIII. Online presence on social networks

We operate publicly available profiles on social networks, through which we establish contacts with active users, interested parties and customers, whom we inform about our services.

The data of users of social networks such as Facebook or Google+ may be processed in third countries – for example in the USA. The enforcement of the user’s rights may therefore be more difficult. US providers certified under the Privacy Shield are hereby notified that they are required to comply with European privacy standards.

If you are logged in to your social network account and visit our profile on it, the operator of the social network can assign this visit to your user account. Your personal data may be collected even if you are not logged in or do not have an account on the relevant social network. Data is collected using cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.

Thanks to the collected data, social network operators can create user profiles in which preferences and interests are stored. Data is normally stored for market research and advertising purposes. In this way, it is possible to show you personalized ads within the presence on social networks and outside of them.

If you have an account on a social network, personalized advertising can be displayed to you on all devices and platforms on which you are logged into the account.

Please note that we cannot cover all processes carried out on social networks. Depending on the provider, social network operators may perform other additional processes. For more information about the terms of use and privacy policy, please contact the relevant social network.

Legal basis

Our presence on social networks ensures a versatile presence on the Internet. We consider it a legitimate interest, as stated in Article 6, para. 1, letter (f) according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Analysis by social networks may be based on another legal basis determined by the operators of social networks (e.g. an agreement based on Article 6.1, letter (a), Article 7 under the GDPR).

Operator and enforcement of rights

When visiting our profile on one of the social networks (e.g. Facebook), we and the operator of the social network are responsible for the data processing performed. You can exercise your rights (publication, modification, deletion, restriction of processing, objection and complaint) against us and the operator of the social network (e.g. Facebook).

Despite our shared responsibility with the operators of social networks, please note that we do not have full influence over the processing of data by social networks. Our options are limited by the company policies of the respective provider.

Retention period

We will delete the data that we directly collect through our presence on social networks from our systems as soon as the purpose of processing ceases, you request deletion, you withdraw your consent to their storage or the purpose of storage becomes invalid. Saved cookies will remain stored on your device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions, especially data retention periods, remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the period for which social network operators will store your personal data for their own needs. For more information, please contact the provider of the relevant social network (e.g. personal data protection policy, see below).
